Originally harvested for making wooden clothes pegs, this beautiful native timber is now recognised as a unique furniture / craft timber. The cream coloured sapwood is contrasted by the wild reddish-brown heartwood. The distinctive black streaks are caused by a fungus that colours the wood but does not damage the wood.
This is a black ink pen and grey led pencil in a case. They are made with Tasmanian Blackheart Sassafras wood with silver trim.
Due to the individuality of the wood colours and grains may vary than pictured.
Hand made by Tasmanian local, Steve Jenner.
